Delete your Edecuate account and data
Open the app, go to your profile and choose Delete Account. Your account closes at once. If you cannot use the app, email info@edecuate.in with the subject “Delete my account”. Read on for what is deleted and what is kept.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Profile, then tap Delete Account at the bottom. (In the newer design: Profile & settings, then Delete my account.)
- Read the message and confirm.
Your account is closed at once. If it could not be closed, the app says so and nothing has changed.
Ask us to delete it
If you cannot use the app, email info@edecuate.in from the address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm the request is yours, and then close the account.
What is deleted
At once, when you confirm in the app:
- You are signed out on every phone, and every session ends.
- Your membership of your tuition ends: you can no longer see or change anything there.
- Your name is replaced by “Deleted user”, and your email address, phone number, photo and profile details are removed from your account.
You can later sign up again with the same email address, as a new account.
What is kept, and why
Your tuition’s records stay: marks, attendance, fees and payments, answer sheets and their marking, and the tests you made or took. They are the tuition’s records and, for a student, a record of a child’s schooling that the tuition and the child’s parents have reason to keep. After you delete your account they are no longer linked to your name.
Some details other people entered, such as a guardian’s phone number on a student’s enrolment, may remain in those records. To have specific details reviewed, write to info@edecuate.in.
Copies in our database backups are overwritten within 7 days.
If you are a student or a parent
Closing your account does not delete a child’s record: the tuition holds it. To have a child’s information corrected or deleted, write to info@edecuate.in or to the tuition.
If you joined the waiting list
To remove your email address from the launch waiting list on this website, write to info@edecuate.in.
